VIDEO STREAMING REMINDER!
DVD RECIPIENTS: Permission is granted to transcode your SCIENCE SCREEN REPORT or SCIENCE SCREEN REPORT FOR KIDS DVDs into the appropriate format (AVI, MOV, MPS, etc.) in order to stream the programs to classrooms within your school ONLY. For districts that receive SSR and/ or SSR for Kids you may stream the programs to those school sites only within the confines of your district. - ING Unsung Heroes Program Invites K-12 Educators to Apply for 2012 Class Project Awards One hundred K-12 educators will be selected to receive awards of $2,000 each to be used in implementing an innovative and effective classroom project. DEADLINE: April 30, 2012

VIRTUAL SCIENTIST GUEST LECTURE SERIES UPDATE
Research Oceanographer Dr. Kara Lavender Law, of the Sea Education Association, Woods Hole, MA, spoke to students at the Chavez High School, Santa Ana, CA via Skype about the growing problem of marine trash in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The presentation lasted about 30 minutes and gave students the opportunity to ask questions about this and other issues concerning the health of the world’s oceans. In January, the Mission High School, in San Francisco will receive virtual visits from an astrophysicist and a civil engineer who will talk about the next generation of citizen space travel as well as an introduction to civil engineering respectively.

BI-LINGUAL STEM EDUCATORS OPPORTUNITY
The Science Screen Report team is looking for a bi-lingual science teacher of middle or high school grade level students to join its advisory panel.
